Eco Friendly Moissanite Jewellery
Green Precious Metals
All the precious metals (bullion - gold, platinum, palladium) we use to make our moissanite jewellery is sourced from recycled and reclaimed sources. This means we're not contributing to the environmental impact caused by mining 'fresh' precious metals, especially the impacts caused by mining gold.
To put this into perspective, approximately 20 tonnes of mining waste are created to produce 9grams of 18ct gold.
Moissanite - The Environmentally Friendly Gem
Because moissanite is made and not mined (like diamonds), by comparison there's hardly any environmental impact.
Diamond mining has a massive environmental impact at all stages - from the initial exploration of a site, physical mining, to the storage and re-processing of the waste and sluce produced during the mining process.
Moissanite - The Conflict Free Gem
Conflict or 'blood' diamonds are being highlighted more than ever. Because moissanite is created in a lab and not mined in multiple countries, there is no way that a moissanite gem stone will ever be a 'conflict' stone or a 'blood' stone. The sole production is controlled by one company - Charles and Colvard, based in the United States.
